Emily works predominately with governments and corporate organisations where engagement with the public is essential for good result Emily has worked in the field of community engagement for ten years. She has a deep understanding of how government works and the particular and complex issues that governments face when engaging their public. She has experience working with federal, state and local governments on their engagement endeavours and has worked across many portfolios including water, health, natural resource management and policy. Emily is a professional facilitator and uses a suite of techniques to enable true participation - from complex to simple, campaigns of work, to 'one-offs', her skills and ability are unique. Emily is skilled and trained as an 'Open Space Technology' facilitator and also uses deliberative democracy techniques in her work. In 2007, Emily established her flourishing community engagement business in South Australia. She has access to a strong and talented network of colleagues in Australia and overseas willing to work with her. This ensures that Emily can source leading edge support for large or complex work, using professionals in facilitation and participation that are world leaders in the field. Professional Memberships/Affiliations Emily is a member of the International Association of Public Participation (IAP2). She is also an active member of the Australian Facilitators Network. Emily is also currently part of a large collaboration of 'Facilitators Helping Communities Recover' in response to the Victorian bushfires of 2009. Emily stays grounded by keeping an active role in her local community.
